T Theme Knowledge – Reduce DC of Physical Science checks to recall knowledge about strange new worlds or features of space by 5. Gain +1 bonus to Physical Science checks.
C Artificial Intelligence – Construct an artificial intelligence that you can access for help in variety of endeavors. AI can take one of two forms, a drone or exocortex. Must pick form upon taking first level of mechanic, and once choice is made, it cannot be changed.
C Bypass – At 1st level, gain +1 insight bonus to Computers and Engineering skill checks. At 5th level, and every 4 levels thereafter, and at 20th level, bonus increases by 1.
C Custom Rig – Gain customized toolkit can use to hack systems and items. Custom rig can be installed as cybernetic augmentation system in brain, eyes, or arm. Alternatively, can configure it to be handheld device. While using rig, always count as having appropriate tool or basic kit for any Computers of Engineering skill check you attempt. Can use custom rig as a Mk 1 comm unit. If custom rig is damaged, destroyed, lost, or stolen, can kitbash a new one from any engineering kit, hacking kit, or other technological toolkit, reconfiguring the materials into a new custom rig with 1 hour of work. Can only have one custom rig at a time. If create a new custom rig, old one functions as normal toolkit of whatever type made from and can no longer be used with mechanic tricks.
C Mechanic Trick – Gain first mechanic trick at 2nd level and gain additional mechanic trick at 4th level and every 2 levels thereafter. If mechanic trick allows opponent to make saving throw to resist effects, DC is equal to 10 + half mechanic level + Intelligence modifier. If mechanic trick requires opponent to attempt skill check, DC is equal to 10 + 1-1/2 x class level + Intelligence modifier. Unless otherwise noted, can’t learn mechanic tricks more than once.
C Overload – As standard action, can cause short in electronic device, including most ranged energy weapons, melee weapons with powered special property, or single armor upgrade. This makes device nonfunctional for 1 round. Overload doesn’t cause locked door, safe, or other device to open, but prevents anyone from opening for 1 round. Must be adjacent to device to use ability. If have exocortex with wireless hack ability, can instead use this ability on any electronic device within range of exocortex’s wireless hack. If use overload on item or armor upgrade in someone’s possession, owner can attempt Reflex saving throw to negate effect (DC = 10 + half mechanic level + Intelligence modifier). Overload doesn’t affect androids, cybernetics, drones, powered armor, robots, or creatures with technological subtype, or items larger than Medium. Once device has been successfully overloaded, residual charge prevents device from being overloaded again for 1 minute.
C Weapon Specialization – Gain Weapon Specialization as bonus feat for each weapon class grants proficiency with.
Constructed – Gain +2 bonus to saving throws against disease, mind-affecting effects, poison, sleep, unless those effects specifically target constructs. In addition, do not breathe or suffer normal environmental effects of being in vacuum.
Exceptional Vision – Gain low-light vision and darkvision. Can see in dim light as if it were normal light, and can see with no light source at all to range of 60 feet in black and white only.
Flat Affect – Take – 2 penalty to Sense Motive checks, but DCs of Sense Motive checks attempted against increases by 2.
Upgrade Slot – Gain single upgrade slot in body. Regardless of wearing armor, can use this slot to install any one armor upgrade that can be installed in light armor.
1: Exocortex – Begin play with artificial processor that interacts with and augments brain cognitive functions. Exocortex is implanted within physical body or brain, allowing AI to access mind and feed information.
1: Combat Tracking – Gain proficiency with heavy armor and longarms. At 3rd level, gain weapon specialization in longarms just as if your class granted proficiency. As move action during combat, can designate a foe to track. As long as target is in sight, can make attacks against target as if base attack bonus from mechanic levels were equal to mechanic level. Designating another target loses bonuses against previous target.
1: Memory Module – Once per day, as reaction while not in combat, can reroll failed skill check to recall knowledge. In addition, gain Skill Focus as bonus feat. Can’t use memory module while combat tracking is activated. Every time you gain mechanic level, can rebuild memory module, replacing bonus Skill Focus feat with Skill Focus in different skill.

2: Quick Patch – When attempting to patch system on starship, reduce number of actions required to do so by one. Does not reduce time needed to patch a glitching system, but can patch two systems with one action.
FEATS AND PROFICIENCIES
C Armor Proficiency – Proficient with light armor and heavy armor.
C Weapon Proficiency – Proficient with basic melee weapons, small arms, grenades, and longarms.
1 Barricade – As move action, can stack and reinforce objects that are too small or fragile to provide cover into single square of adjacent cover. Barricade grants partial cover against attacks with line of effect that pass through it. If barricade is in square that already granted partial cover, instead grants normal cover. Barricade is temporary and not particularly durable. When determining hardness and Hit Points, treat as piece of equipment with item level equal to half total ranks in Engineering, minimum 1. Additionally, once it or creature adjacent to it is hit by attack, barricade collapses at beginning of turn in 1d4 rounds.
1 Skill Focus (Engineering) – Gain a +3 insight bonus to checks involving Engineering.
3 Iron Will – Gain +2 bonus to Will saves.
